Cheap classifiers push judgment into interface controls

UX Collective's Jev writeup and Simon Willison's llm-openai-decisions plugin both point to OpenAI's new Decisions API returning probabilistic yes/no answers at keystroke speed, and Vercel's AI Gateway now acts on those same confidence scores to auto-fallback. If classification costs pennies and runs in milliseconds, confidence thresholds stop being a backend concern and become something you design directly into buttons, forms and flows.

Jev classifier makes typed decisions cheap enough for controls

Cheap, fast classification means you can prototype interfaces where actions trigger on model confidence instead of forcing users through a question-answer flow.

Sketch one control in a current flow (a submit button, a search box) that could enable or branch based on a confidence score instead of waiting for a full form submission.
